ze dev section
Ok, a little about me then.
Hi! I'm Jen and I like music and web-dev and so I use this blog to experiment with all kinds of new and old web-dev thingies suchs as Sifr, @font-face, feed in/export and other stuff I come across. Hence this site is under constant development.
As u might've noticed most of my blog is in Dutch and I dare not setup an auto translator since it's written in a kind of slang that doesnt translate very well I'd imagine. But since I do read/comment on a lot of web-dev sites I kinda figured I do this section in English so people can follow the backlink and end up somewhere a bit more usefull then a Dutch blog filled with my latest thoughts and mushings.
got any Q's or C's? ...jus drop a

Finally got something half decent online over at jenwebtek.com It's a few pages of portofolio stuff and I say half finished because I have a lot more in store for the domain. In fact I'm thinking of putting up a boutique webshop on a subdomain and since this site is based on Wordpress 3.0 I should have the possibility to do multiple site in one install. But thats later, first there will be some templating work for a dear friend who needs a webshop too. For now it's getting late so cheers 'cause I'm opening up a beer.

feature detection .... it's just to much work. why? 'cause it's essentially a bunch of hacks since all browser vendors are abusing the UA string. So it's conditional for me, and then only for IE 'cause..
Anyway checkout this lovely article over @ webAIM by Aaron Andersen
..just my 2 cents about it

The font everybody loves to hate. Well that would be devvers & designers anyway. Hek, my mom still likes to use it, eventho I've told her not to...
So some suggested reading from my part; go tjekout Timothy McSweeny's monolog and then headover to bancomicsans.com to show some love.

A fun little experiment involving some javascript to fetch a random item from an array of answers. No images were used, just some css3 styling and because I'm lazy like that I only did moz and webkit. Perhaps I'll do the proper css3 and opera later. And then there's IE... well I gues I really should have a look at the 9 beta version.
I've also put everything inline so viewing the source will get u to the magic tho I must say that I'm using the scourcerer joomla plug and it's not really playing nice with JCE editor. Somehow lot's of html tags like paragraphs etc. get added every time I edit the stuff through the 'insert code' button. But besides all that formatting I must confess that this plug might become a defacto one for me. Then again, why issn't that code-in-post's stuff native for joomla or wordpress anyway.

Big up's to Google for bringing us @font-face awesomeness. Go tjek out some of these google hosted webfonts. Tho not an impressive list yet, this will def help bringing those HTTP requests down just like with the AJAX libraries.
